By Liz Kolbe

Registration is now open for the 2016 Practical Farmers CSA Workshop Retreat, February 5 – 6, at the Pilgrim Heights Retreat Center in Montour.

Attendees will be divided into an “Experienced” group (at least three years experience managing a CSA) and an “Exploratory” group (those in their first years or new to CSA management).

The experienced group will be participant-led, facilitated by Mark Quee, farm manager at Scattergood Friends School. Attendees in the experienced group who wish to suggest or lead a discussion topic should submit their ideas to Liz Kolbe (liz@practicalfarmers.org).

The exploratory group will be led by Rebecca Graff of Fair Share Farm in Kearney, MO, and Rob Faux of Genuine Faux Farm in Tripoli. The exploratory workshop will be a mix of presentation, round table, and small group work.

All workshop participants will share meals and lodging at the Pilgrim Heights Retreat Center in Montour, with plenty of time for networking. Lodging is four per room, by gender, in twin beds (bring your own bedding and pillow).

Please register by emailing lauren@practicalfarmers.org or calling Lauren Zastrow at Practical Farmers of Iowa: 515-232-5661. Space will be limited.

Registration is required for this workshop, and there is a small fee per person ($10 for members, $60 for non-members). Payment can be made online as a donation to PFI, or by check to Practical Farmers of Iowa, 600 5th St. Ste 100, Ames IA 50010.
