Alisha Bower 2 5 23 18Alisha Bower is PFI’s operations director. In this role she provides leadership on human resources, grant planning and management, office and administrative management and organization-wide performance. Her favorite part of her role is empowering PFI’s talented staff with the resources they need to achieve PFI’s mission.

A native Wisconsinite, Alisha was raised on a small hobby farm in southwestern Wisconsin’s picturesque Driftless Region. She holds a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a focus on non-profit administration and designing and managing research projects in agriculture and food systems. Prior to joining the PFI team, she worked in several other agricultural non-profits including Integrated Pest Management Institute of North America and Liberty Prairie Foundation, as well as an internship in Lima, Peru with the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. She joined PFI’s Strategic Initiatives team in 2017 and spearheaded PFI’s small grains market development work as well as managing day to day operations for the delivery of PFI’s cover crops and small grains programs to farmers before transitioning into the role of operations director in 2020.

After work, Alisha enjoys singing show tunes while gardening, fermenting anything remotely edible (or drinkable!) and biding her time until her next international adventure by reading books that explore different cultures.
