Description:

This field day begins at the farm of Dean Tiefenthaler for a look at his strip-tillage practices and equipment, then moves to the Breda city park for a complimentary supper. Conservation Station will be available for touring.

The Farm

Dean has used strip-tillage prior to planting corn for 4 years. He started to use strip-tillage because he wanted to apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers in bands rather than broadcast-applying the fertilizer on the soil surface.
