Description:
Farmer Kate at Wild Woods Farm is in her second
year as a beginning farmer. Come and hear how Kate got started farming, and
meet other beginning farmers in Eastern Iowa.
In addition to farming, Kate is a member of the recently appointed Johnson
County Food Policy Council. Council members will be available for questions
about the Council and on-going issues in the area’s food and farm scene.

Wild Wood Farm is about 2 acres providing a CSA
and wholesale produce.

Directions:
From
I-80 at Iowa City: Take Highway 1 north to Newport road. Turn left and go 2 miles to a
white church on the right. Turn right on Sugar Bottom Road, go about 2 miles and
turn left on 245th St.
Go 1 mile to the 8 ft fence surrounding Farmer Kate’s field on the left. A
round stone barn and stone driveway markers are hard to miss as well.
