This site provides a platform for landowners to post land opportunities for beginners, and for beginning farmers to post their land needs in order to farm.

Three steps needed to complete:
1) Register
Click on the registration button and create your Find a Farmer account. You will need a valid email address.
2) Fill out your profile.
3) Look for matches.

Register

This website is a FREE service of Practical Farmers of Iowa. All you need is a valid email address. We will send you an email to verify youraccount. After registering, check that email address for a new message and click the link to continue back to the website. Complete your profile and start searching.

Policy

We will not share your personal contact information with anyone or make it publicly available on this site. If you have more than one farm opportunity to post, please choose one farm to post on this site, the one you are most eager to get a beginner on. At this time, our site does not allow users to post multiple farms at one time. If you have feedback on this or any other website issue, contact luke@practicalfarmers.org.

My Profile

We ask 10 simple questions to help you find your land match.

No matter what you choose, you will get to see all landowners and landseekers after you submit, and you can change your selections at any time.

Start a Conversation

Search the map, check out details, then send a secure, private message and start conversations. Your personal information is never released from or searchable on this site. The only way people will know your private details is if you choose to share it with others in the secure message box or by phone or email.

Update, Login or Expire

We will keep your posting online for six months after you create it and renew the six month time period each time you login. We will send you an automatic email message to remind you to login, or you may let it expire, and your post will automatically disappear.

Emails

Landseekers: We will send you an automatic email each time a new match posts in your county and remind you to login to check it out. You will also receive an automatic email whenever another user sends you a message.

Landowners: We will send you an automatic email each time a new match posts in the county where your land is posted to remind you to login to check it out. You will also receive an automatic email whenever another user sends you a message.
