Another season of farmer-to-farmer learning is here! Nearly 60 farms across Iowa, as well as Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and Wisconsin, are opening their farm gates to share knowledge about small grains, orcharding, grazing, agritourism, weed control and more.
Kody and Dahrea Karr farm near Monroe City, Missouri, where they began row-cropping in 2021. The Karrs have also found that cover crops and grazing help break persistent pest cycles and restore diversity and fertility back into corn and soybean acres. Elsewhere on the farm, Kody and Dahrea are converting crop ground back to native grassland to have pasture species better adapted to local weather cycles. Come see these practices in action and learn how the Karrs are hoping to build resilience through an integrated crop and livestock farm.
