Conference and short course
The conference and all four short courses take place at the Scheman Building at 1805 Center Dr, Ames, IA 50011
Potluck NEW location:
We are continuing this favorite conference tradition, with a few changes! This year our potluck will be held at CityChurch of Ames-Des Moines, located at 2400 Oakwood Road in Ames. This venue is easy to find and close to the conference hotels.
Also new this year: this event will offer a fully catered meal. But since we still want to honor the potluck tradition, if you would like, you can bring an appetizer or dessert to share. Practical Farmers will provide water and tableware. A free-will donation is appreciated.
Amenities
We have negotiated special rates for PFI Annual Conference attendees. When you contact each of these hotels, ask for the PFI rate. All three of these options are close to the Scheman Building and close to our new Friday potluck location at Oakwood Road Community Center. Feel free to check back on the day-of for cancellations.
FULL Friday Night — Best Western Plus University Park Inn & Suites
The Best Western has been our primary go-to hotel for many years and we’ve been treated very well by the staff there. The lobby has plenty of seating for visiting and meeting up with PFI friends. A hot breakfast is provided, and rooms have refrigerators and microwaves. There is an indoor pool and free high-speed internet.

Rates: The PFI special pricing is $95, and pricing will be honored until all available rooms are booked.

FULL Friday Night — Comfort Inn and Suites
This is the first time we are booking with the brand new Comfort Inn and Suites, which is very close to the PFI office as well as the conference and potluck locations. Features include free hot breakfast, free WiFi, a pool, and a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker in each room.
Location: 603 S. 16 th Street, Ames
Rates: The PFI special pricing is $89 for Wednesday and Thursday, January 15 and 16, and $95 for Friday and Saturday, January 17 and 18. Rooms will be released to the general public on December 23, but they will continue to honor the PFI price if rooms are still available.
