Getting Started With Your Farm’s Legacy Planning

Planning for a land transition can be daunting. What kind of legacy will you leave? Join Practical Farmers of Iowa for a session designed to support you through the first steps of farm transition. We’ll overview a variety of ways others have transitioned land and help you prioritize what’s most important based on your goals and the legacy you want to leave. We’ll also think about ways to communicate with family and plan out what the next steps should be.

This workshop is being repeated in a variety of times and formats—virtually and in-person—to maximize the number of people who can attend. It’s designed for anyone with farmland, including family farms moving to the next generation, landowners who rent their land, and or someone without an heir apparent. Attendees will have the option of continuing the work with Practical Farmers through additional workshops this winter. RSVP directly to martha@practicalfarmers.org.
