About the Trainers
Derek Roller
Trainer Experience: I like to work with folks that are interested in remaining in ag. Echollective has had a lot of farmers (still farming, or retired) pass through on their way to their own farms or other farm adjacent jobs. I've been an employer for nearly 30 years. In various business, I've taught high school, trained both on farm and in a restaurant, and I'm a parent.
About the Farm
We raise primarily veggies, have a handful of the agroforestry species on farm and have dabbled with different livestock. We tend to incubate at least one (often more) other enterprise by an aspiring farmer a year. Our markets are CSA, farmers market, restaurants, institutions and donations. We collaborate with other neighbor farms, and, as a CSA farm, we grow a lot of different veggies both on bare ground and in protective culture. We have mostly annual and a few perennial species.
