Farmland Owner Legacy Award

The Farmland Owner Legacy Award is granted annually by Practical Farmers to nonoperating landowners who use their land to help the next generation get started, advance land stewardship and promote long-term sustainability of farm businesses, environmental quality and rural communities. The award highlights the vital role nonoperator farmland owners play in the future of sustainable agriculture.

This award is intended for nonoperating landowners. Nominations for active farmers should be reserved for the Sustainable Agriculture Achievement Award, which will open this fall. Preference will be given to nominees who are active members of PFI.

Nominations are due by Feb. 27, 2026.
