Eligibility

To participate as a trainer, you must:

  • Be a PFI member and current farmer
  • Have a desire to mentor the next generation of farmers
  • Employ workers as W-2 employees, including carrying workers' compensation insurance and withholding applicable federal and state taxes

Program Requirements

Trainer applicants represent a wide range of enterprises and production practices in Iowa. Trainers must recruit, interview and hire an employee that is a good fit for their farm position. PFI provides a trainer orientation and other support.
