About the Trainers
Andrew Phelps
Trainer Experience: We purchased our farmland in 2019 and began our produce farming operation in 2021.
About the Farm
Our farm is in northeast Iowa, just a few miles southwest of Guttenberg, near Osterdock. We are a diversified vegetable farm selling wholesale, through a CSA and a farmers market. We have a small number of cut flowers and force tulips for hydroponic production. We also have ducks and chickens for egg production. In addition, we produce maple syrup and honey. We follow organic practices but are not certified organic. We practice minimal tillage and utilize cover crops. Our poultry and goats are being integrated into our grazing rotation within our vegetable production area. We focus on building healthy soil to grow quality vegetables.
