Valeria Cano Camacho Tidemann

Office Manager

Valeria Cano Camacho Tidemann rejoined the Practical Farmers of Iowa staff in July 2026 as office manager. Prior to her current role, Valeria was the senior Latino engagement coordinator for PFI from 2023-2026. In her role as office manager, Valeria will support staff on day-to-day operations, manage office projects and ensure efficient office processes.

A long-term resident of central Iowa, Valeria has a master’s degree in soil science and a bachelor’s degree in agronomy and global resource systems, both from Iowa State University.

Her agricultural interests are in soil health, regenerative agriculture and ethnobotany. She enjoys understanding the connections between people, culture and agriculture. Valeria’s love of and appreciation for agriculture started in high school, although her family claims it started much earlier: As a toddler, Valeria would eat handfuls of soil from her mother’s flowerpots.

In her free time, Valeria enjoys anything crafty, reading and spending time with her loved ones. She resides in Ames with her partner, Austin, and their cavapoo pup, Lunita.
