Natasha Hegmann
Specialty Crops Business Manager
Natasha Hegmann is the specialty crops business manager at Practical Farmers of Iowa. In this role, she supports farmers and works to strengthen local food systems across the state.
Natasha also runs Abbe Hills Produce in Mount Vernon, Iowa, where she and her husband grow vegetables for local schools, restaurants and elder care centers. Before starting her farm business in 2015, Natasha served with FoodCorps in rural Montana and then managed vegetable production for the University of Montana Dining Services. Her experience with farm-to-school programming and building a farm business inspires her to imagine a future for rural Iowa with more table-food producers, stable local markets for crops and fresh foods in school cafeterias.
She holds a bachelor's degree in Spanish from St. Olaf College. In her free time, Natasha enjoys hiking, taking on ambitious cooking projects, sharing farm life with her two children and plotting their family's next travel adventures.
