Sustainable Agriculture Assistant
I am currently a senior at Iowa State University receiving degrees in animal science and global resource systems. Agriculture has always been a large part of my life ever since I can remember. I grew up on a row crop farm, raising and showing livestock in Indianola, Iowa. This began my love for livestock and agriculture, and made majoring in animal science at Iowa State a no-brainer!
I added global resource systems because I was always fascinated with agriculture around the world. The major involves studying how we use our current world resources such as animal source protein, grain and water to meet our current global needs in a sustainable manner. During my collegiate career, I have had the opportunity to study abroad and intern in China, Peru and Ethiopia, and last year I participated in a service learning program in the U.S. Virgin Islands. All of these experiences have been focused on different facets of agriculture and sustainable practices around the world.
I am excited to bring my experiences back home and work with PFI, an organization that focuses on using sustainable practices in Iowa, one of the most resource-rich areas of the world.
