RADCLIFFE Iowa (June 15, 2022) — Heath Stolee, of Nutty Farmer Chestnuts, will host a Practical Farmers of Iowa field day in partnership with Ducks Unlimited exploring ways to integrate conservation with agriculture on Saturday, June 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., on his farm near Radcliffe, Iowa (27242 E. Ave.).
The event – “Connecting Agriculture and Conservation” – is free to attend and will end with lunch. RSVPs are appreciated for the meal by June 20. Sign up online, or contact Debra Boekholder at (515) 232-5661 or debra@practicalfarmers.org.
The field day is sponsored by Center for Rural Affairs and Iowa Agriculture Water Alliance.
During the field day, Heath will share how he has integrated chestnut trees, prairie strips, a 16-acre Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) wetland – and more – on his Hardin County, veteran-owned farm.
He will also discuss how he has connected with organizations like Ducks Unlimited and the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship to create habitat and diversity. Mike Shannon, of Ducks Unlimited, will also speak during the field day.
