Farminar Recording available now! Scale and Profit: a financial snapshot of three CSAs
Last Tuesday, January 17th, 74 folks participated in the live Farminar discussion about local fruit and vegetable production business scale and profit. Three farms, each with a different number of CSA members showed their farm finances – providing their profit and loss and balance sheets for review.
Blue Gate Farm : 40 members
Fair Share Farm : 100 members
Grinnell Heritage Farm : 220 members
All the farms are satisfied with their profit levels and have achieved what they set out to do with their farm businesses, demonstrating that there are many ways to develop a local food business and find success.
