Should I Replant? – Organic Weed Control

By Practical Farmers of Iowa

Deciding whether to replant corn or soybeans is a difficult decision. It might be the result of a poor seedbed, insect damage, or bad weather conditions, but for one reason or another, sometimes you end up with less crops growing than you want. Then you’re faced with the decision: do I replant or deal with the stand I’ve got?

In this video, PFI farmers talk through their decision-making process when it comes to replanting. They discuss how timing of planting and plant population both weigh on potential yield, but also the risk of losing control of weeds in a situation where you have a poor stand.
