Registration
Walk-In Registrations Welcome!
Pre-registration for the conference is closed, but we are accepting walk-in registrations during the conference, and hope to see you there!
Walk-in Registration opens at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 21 and 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22.
Walk-in Registration Pricing:
- Farm/Household and Lifetime Member: $65/day for up to 10 members of the farm/household
- Individual/Access Members: $65/day/person
- Non-member: $85/day/person
- Saturday lunch tickets are sold separately at $15/person
Non-members may join at the conference to access the member rates (members may also upgrade their memberships).
We are committed to making “Facing the Horizon” affordable for all to attend. In addition to keeping our conference registration rates low, conference discounts are given to all registrants with current PFI memberships. For attendees with Lifetime Memberships ($1,000) or Farm/Household Memberships ($60/year) up to 10 family members or farm employees can attend on a single registration ticket.
Member Discounts
Members with a Farm & Household or Lifetime PFI membership are able to register themselves and all individuals covered under their membership (their household and farm employees up to 10 people) with the purchase of just one discounted ticket.
PFI members who have an Individual membership or an Access membership are able to register themselves for a $20 discount each day.
Members with an Organizational membership are able to register up to three individuals covered under that membership with the purchase of just one discounted ticket.
Not sure about your membership status? Check the mailing label on any publication from PFI to find your membership expiration date. You may also visit this webpage to log in and access your membership information, or call the PFI office at (515) 232-5661.
Are you a student?
For individuals currently enrolled in coursework, we have a steeply discounted $30 ticket to attend both Friday and Saturday sessions. Membership is not required, but a valid student ID is required at check-in.
Not a member?
Visit this webpage to learn more about PFI membership, become a member, then register under the member rate!
Don’t forget lunch!
All lunch tickets must be purchased in addition to conference tickets.
Friday box lunches will be available prior to 12:30 p.m. only for those who pre-order. Saturday lunch tickets may be available for purchase that day, but keep in mind that tickets sell out some years.
Both lunches (and complimentary Saturday breakfast) are made primarily with ingredients sourced from PFI member farms.
COVID-19 Policy
At Practical Farmers of Iowa, the safety of our staff, members and community is our top priority. At this event, we are committed to prioritizing safety while balancing the benefits of in-person interaction and learning.
All attendees over the age of 3, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear a properly fitting mask indoors, except when actively eating or drinking. This policy aligns with current guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for counties and states with “substantial” or “high” risk of community spread of COVID-19.
For more information on PFI’s policy for indoor events, please see our COVID-19 page.
Pre-registration deadline and refunds
Pre-registrations must be received by Thursday, Jan. 13. After that date, registration rates increase and all registrations are walk-in only. No refunds will be given after Jan. 13, unless you cannot attend due to you or a household member testing positive for COVID-19 (with proof of test). All refunds will be charged an $8 processing fee.
