Fitting Farming Into Life at Mogo Farms
Fitting Farming Into Life at Mogo Farms
Wednesday, Sept. 4 | 3-5 p.m.
Location
2542 Iowa Ave. | Mount Pleasant, IA 52641
Host
Morgan Hoenig | Mogo Farms
Morgan Hoenig started Mogo Farms in 2008 to grow vegetables to feed her community. Over time, her farm has evolved to provide the boundaries and flexibility she needs to accommodate an off-farm job and other responsibilities. For Morgan, flowers have been the key to flexibility and profit on her farm.
Today, with 1.5 acres in production (half flowers and half veggies), a floral design business and a following of customers, Morgan’s farm supports – but does not dominate – her life. Join us at Mogo Farms to learn from Morgan about what she grows, how she right-sizes her marketing and her vision for future farm evolution. Plus, we’ll learn about the impact of installing a 3D deer fence around her field. (Hint: It’s a gamechanger!)
Meal
Light, summery snacks will follow the field day.
