Reading Between the Aggregates: What Your Soil Can Tell You About Farm Management
Wednesday, Dec. 4 | 4-6 p.m.
Location
2947 280th St | Hopkinton, IA
Host
Ryan Gibbs
Ryan and Kristy Gibbs run a diverse farming operation with their son and Ryan’s dad in Hopkinton. Ryan specializes in cover crop seed sales and custom seeding and is a dealer for Iowa Cover Crop. Ryan and his family farm 450 acres of corn and soybeans, using conservation practices that include no till, strip-till, cover cropping and rotational grazing on multispecies mixes. In this talk, Ryan hopes farmers will learn how to read a soil test so they can use the results to make soil health and farm management decisions. Ryan will explain how to manage nutrients on the farm using cover crops, biologicals, stabilizers and more.
