THE FARM:

Carol and her husband, Brian Orth, started Bountiful Blossoms Bee Company, LLC, in 2015 on their 23-acre farm north of Glenwood. They sell varietal honeys and an all-natural skin and hair care line that includes honey and beeswax soaps, shampoos, salves, scrubs and more. Carol is also a biology professor at Creighton University, and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their products supports Carol’s honeybee health research program at Creighton. To increase pollinator foraging diversity in the area, Carol and Brian incorporate bee forage plantings around their property, including clover cover crops and native prairie plantings, using funds through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Environmental Quality Incentives Program.
