Beginning farmers Ryan and Jamie Madison founded Mad Acre Farm in 2020. Mad Acre is a 4-acre farm consisting of a market garden, a 240-square-foot greenhouse, a high tunnel and pastured chickens. Ryan and Jamie are also starting out with microgreens along with learning hydroponics. They sell their produce, meat and eggs directly to consumers through their CSA. To grow their market and foster community, they make playful educational videos on social media platforms and write a blog for their website. They are also currently working toward creating an agritourism component to their farm. Join the Madisons for this hands-on look at a pasture-raised poultry enterprise, from getting started to processing and marketing.
*Attendance for this field day will be capped at 15.
