Innovative Strategies for Diversifying a Row Crop Operation
Wednesday, July 10 | 4-6 p.m.
Location
2507 Quince Ave. | Corning, IA 50841
Hosts
Chris & Shannon Gaesser | GX Agriculture
Chris and Shannon Gaesser farm just over 4,000 acres of corn, soybeans and small grains near Corning, Iowa. Together, they also run GX Agriculture, a farm service business that sells and custom-applies cover crop seed. They grow and harvest rye as cover crop seed and as grain for Revelton Distillery in Osceola, Iowa. Shannon and Chris follow their corn and soybeans with a rye, triticale or other small-grain cover crop. They also take part in several research trials studying a range of topics, from nitrogen fixation and biological fertilizers to drone applications. Join the Gaessers at their field day to explore innovative strategies for diversifying rotations and establishing partnerships to build a resilient farm and business.
