Agritourism, Infrastructure and Collaboration at Long Walk Farm
Thursday, Sept. 18
3-5 p.m.
Location
23780 Dogwood Road
Council Bluffs, IA 51503
Hosts
Tiffiny Clifton & Matt Johnson, Long Walk Farm
It’s clear that Matt Johnson and Tiffiny Clifton are having a good time. They bought the property that would become Long Walk Farm in 2020. Since then, they’ve scaled up with infrastructure, staff, creative on-farm events and multiple market streams for their produce. In more than a dozen growing structures on their farm, Matt and Tiffiny raise a list of crops that reflects their practical grounding blended with an adventurous outlook. The list encompasses staples like carrots, onions, garlic and lettuce alongside more unusual offerings like eucalyptus, day-neutral strawberries, turmeric and figs. Join us for a stroll through Long Walk Farm, where you’ll hear from Tiff and Matt about how they’re building a business to feed their region.
Note: Come prepared to walk some distance for this event; the farm name is indeed descriptive!
Meal
Pizza from the farm’s pizza oven will be served following the field day. Please indicate gluten-free and dairy-free needs on your event registration.
