Eric and Tina Meyer, along with their son Conner, farm 850 acres of corn, soybeans and rye for seed near Postville, Iowa. They also have a 100-head beef cattle herd with a cow-calf operation, and background cattle up to 700 pounds. Eric and Tina have been experimenting with no-till and cover crops for the last decade.

About five years ago, they transitioned to 100% no-till and cover crops – and have seen the soil health benefits. The Meyers graze their cattle on cover crops, often using a summer-planted multi-species grazing mix. Occasionally, they graze on rye in the spring. Join Eric and Tina at their field day to learn more about cover crop species, grazing covers, incorporating livestock with row crops and extending rotations.
