Dan Miller runs Millermatic Seed, a seed application business that custom-seeds cover crops, forages, pastures, alfalfa, native grasses, turfs and more using airplanes, custom ground rigs and broadcast spreading. What started out as an experimental alternative revenue source in 2015 quickly became a thriving operation. Today, the business establishes upwards of 10,000 acres of native grass and seeds more than 600,000 pounds of covers crops per year in counties across southwest Iowa and into Nebraska.

Though Dan didn’t start out with a business plan, he has learned many lessons along his hard-knock path to success. At this field day, he is excited to share what has worked and what hasn’t in the growth of his seeding business. Attendees will also view and learn about the seeding equipment Dan and his pilot contractors use.
