Making the Land Affordable for the Next Generation of Farmers
Tuesday, July 14 | 4 – 5:30 p.m.
Dale Nimrod and his siblings, Faith Sherman and Vance Nimrod, sold their southwest Iowa farmland to a local farm family at below market value in 2005. Currently, Dale and his wife Sunny are working with lawyer Karl Knudson to transfer their own farm in northeast Iowa to their heirs in a manner that is equitable, affordable and farmable.
Host: Dale Nimrod
The Landowner: Dale Nimrod grew up on a farm near Stanton in southwestern Iowa. He and his siblings sold their 240-acre farm to a local couple as a way to give back to the community that had supported his family and helped them farm after the untimely death of their father. Dale and Sunny live on their farm near Decorah. In 2015, Dale and his siblings received Practical Farmers’ Farmland Owner Legacy Award.
