RAGBRAI at Howell’s Greenhouse and Pumpkin Patch

Join us for this annual celebration of cycling and community! On Day 3 of this year’s ride, RAGBRAI riders will be greeted with fresh fruit and veggies, a water refill station and cheers from Practical Farmers of Iowa when they bike through the RAGBRAI “oasis” at Howell’s Greenhouse and Pumpkin Patch.

Howell’s Greenhouse and Pumpkin Patch is part of the six-generation Howell Farm, which covers 800 acres near Cumming. Fred Howell, his wife, Cindy, and their three children have a diversified farm that includes more than 5 acres of flowers for dried arrangements, a pumpkin patch, corn maze, retail garden center, gift shop and plenty of family- and child-friendly activities, including school tours and goat yoga.

Directions for cyclists: Cyclists will head north out of Winterset on U.S. 169, then travel east on County Road G4R / Cumming Road for 16 miles to the “Iowa Ag Oasis” – refreshment stops along the ride when there is a long stretch between towns – at Howell’s Greenhouse and Pumpkin Patch.
Fresh fruit and local veggies will be served, and a water refill will be available.
