In only a few years, Jenny has created a vibrant urban farm and farm stand with help from family and friends. Join Jenny for a tour of the farm’s garden beds and infrastructure, including the packing shed, farm store and high tunnel. She’ll share tips for branding, sales and marketing and producing high-quality greens and salad vegetables.

THE FARM:
Dogpatch Urban Gardens is situated on 1 acre of land in a residential area, with roughly a quarter-acre under cultivation. Jenny has been operating the farm since 2016, and specializes in growing annual vegetable crops, particularly salad greens. All crops are grown without synthetic chemicals. The business is diversified with multiple ways for the community to support the farm, including salad subscriptions, farm dinners, restaurant sales and a farm stand – a seasonal, on-site store that sells Dogpatch Urban Gardens products, as well as other items from growers across Iowa.

DIRECTIONS:
From I-35 / I-80: Take Exit 131 for Merle Hay Road and turn south on Merle Hay Road. In 0.6 mile, turn left (east) onto Meredith Drive; the farm will be on the north side of the road in 0.5 mile.
Note: Additional parking is available in the parking lot across from the farm stand (off of 51st Street).
