AMES, Iowa (Jan. 13, 2021) — Although pre-registration for Practical Farmers of Iowa’s 2022 annual conference has closed, walk-in registration is open to anyone interested in attending. The event, “Facing the Horizon,” will take place Jan. 21-22 at the Iowa State Center Scheman Building, on the Iowa State University campus in Ames, Iowa.

Walk-In Cost: Those who missed the pre-registration deadline of Jan. 13 are welcome and encouraged to stop by either day of the conference. Walk-in registration prices are $85 per day for non-PFI members, or $65 per day for PFI members – but one ticket covers up to 10 people listed under PFI farm and household or lifetime memberships.

The student rate is $30, regardless of membership status, which covers entry for both Friday and Saturday with a valid student ID. Non-members may also join during walk-in registration to access the lower member rate. Anyone wishing to access the Saturday local foods lunch must also pay an additional $15 per person for a lunch ticket.

More information on walk-in registration can be found at practicalfarmers.org/registration.

Livestreaming Option: For those unable to attend in-person, select sessions will be livestreamed through YouTube at no cost. Any viewer with an internet connection can tune in to watch the sessions, and most will be available for post-conference viewing on PFI’s YouTube channel. More information, including how to watch the livestream, can be found at https://practicalfarmers.org/2022-annual-conference/live.

With more than 60 farmer-led sessions, including general sessions, roundtables and lighting talks spanning the agricultural spectrum, there’s something for everyone at PFI’s annual conference. Full details are at practicalfarmers.org/2022-annual-conference.

Conference highlights include:

  • free breakfast on Saturday morning, a silent auction of special experiences offered by PFI farmers and members, many opportunities to network and more
