Practical Farmers of Iowa’s Farmland Owner Legacy Award Celebration

In Iowa, 55% of farmland is owned by non-operators. These landowners play a critical role in shaping Iowa’s agriculture. Practical Farmers of Iowa’s Farmland Owner Legacy Award recognizes landowners who use their land to help the next generation get started; advance land stewardship and environmental quality; promote long-term sustainability of farm businesses; and strengthen rural communities.
Join Practical Farmers of Iowa in recognizing Ruth Rabinowitz for her efforts in improving conservation on farmland she owns in Iowa and South Dakota. Since taking over management of family farmland in 2012, Ruth has worked to increase soil health and wildlife habitat significantly on her farms.
The event will include a short presentation by Ruth that summarizes her efforts, an award ceremony led by previous Farmland Owner Legacy Award recipient Chris Henning, and a networking reception. Appetizers and beverages will be provided.
