Kyleigh Meyeres joined Practical Farmers of Iowa in June 2023 as an office assistant and transitioned to grants coordinator in September 2024. In this role, Kyleigh helps administer PFI’s grant portfolio and sustain the operating budget. She maintains grant data, supports our staff through the application process and coordinates grant reporting.
Kyleigh graduated Iowa State University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in technical communication and a minor in English, specializing in proposal grant writing. Through her time at ISU, she took many agriculture classes, competed on the ISU Western Equestrian Team and was involved in multiple clubs.
Kyleigh is a firefighter and EMT in a metro fire department where she serves the community in her free time. She is trained and certified to assist in various emergency situations. Kyleigh is also an EMT skills instructor at a local community college, and she serves as an ambassador of the First Responders Children’s Foundation based in New York City. In that role, she helps support the children and families of first responders who have been killed or injured in the line of duty.
Kyleigh grew up between the cornfields of Maquoketa, Iowa, and the mountains of Livingston, Montana. She currently resides in Altoona, Iowa, with her partner Ashton, their two dogs, Beans and Fitz, and horse Frac. In her free time, you will find her doing public outreach for the fire department, riding her horse or reading a good book.
