Rachel Deutmeyer joined the Practical Farmers of Iowa staff in May 2023 as the senior video coordinator. In this role, Rachel shares the meaningful work and stories of PFI members.
Before joining the PFI team, Rachel taught photography and art history at liberal arts universities in Missouri and Tennessee. She has exhibited photographs of Midwestern people, prairie and farms at galleries across the nation.
Raised in eastern Iowa, Rachel graduated with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Ashford University and a master’s degree in integrated arts from Iowa State University. She enjoys time with family, gardening, bluegrass festivals and reading.
