Shawn Hanson

Shawn Hanson joined Practical Farmers of Iowa in August 2024 in the role of finance manager. His primary duties are to design, implement and maintain financial operations for the organization.
Shawn is from Nevada, Iowa, where his father moved in 1976 to start an agricultural construction business. Shawn obtained his engineering degree from Iowa State University in 1999 and worked for a construction materials testing firm in Milwaukee for three years before he and his wife moved back to Iowa to raise a family.
After moving back he worked for the family business, assisting with bookkeeping and operations until becoming the office administrator after his mother retired in 2015. Shawn has several years of experience working with ERP systems and financial processes, and he’s looking forward to applying his experience and expertise at PFI.
Shawn currently resides in Nevada, and in his leisure time he likes to go to thrift stores, play board games, spend time with his children, or work on whatever his current craft or DIY project is.
