Jared DressmanWhy do you want to farm?

Farming has been in my family history and I have a deep desire to farm. Growing trees has been something I have really enjoyed doing since moving onto an acreage. I would like to provide the surrounding community with quality fruit and nut trees.

What are you farming right now?

My primary farm operation is a fruit and nut tree nursery. I have an area on the farm that is fenced off for protection from deer that I use for growing out nursery trees. I am also currently raising heritage turkeys, broilers and ducks and growing garlic.

What’s your vision for your farm?

In five years I would like to see the nursery business thriving. I would like to help the nearby community and people in the surrounding states in the northern Great Plains by providing trees that will provide food for their families and local communities.

Why do you want to participate in this program?

Participating in this program will help me to overcome the hurdle of some new business expenses for my nursery business.
